Grease audition registrations now open!

We're excited to announce auditions for our 2026 production of Grease at the Ipswich Civic Centre, running from 12–20 September.

This iconic musical is full of energy, memorable songs, and 1950s charm. We are seeking versatile performers with strong acting, singing, and movement skills to bring the classic story of Danny, Sandy, the Pink Ladies, and the T-Birds to life.

Audition Dates: Sunday 3 and Monday 4 May 2026

You knew it as Open Mic…

now say hello to IMTC Spotlight Night!

After an incredible first event, we’re excited to announce our open mic nights with a brand-new name… IMTC Spotlight Nights.

This is the same concept you loved, now with a name that better reflects what the evening is all about. A curated night of musical theatre, showcasing talented local performers in a supportive, high-quality setting, while also helping raise funds to support the company and future events.

Performers are invited to submit a song based on the event theme, and from there we shape a balanced program to create an engaging and enjoyable night for both audience and performers. Please note all successful performers (over 18’s) will be asked to contribute a small performers fee.

🎶 How to Apply
Apply via our online application form with a video submission.
Performers are invited to prepare up to 2 Broadway musical theatre songs (maximum 5 minutes each). Solos, duets and trios are welcome. Videos must be single, unedited takes recorded within the last 6 months, with piano or backing track permitted.
A limited number of performance slots are available.
Whether you’re a regular on stage or looking for a chance to step back into the spotlight, this is your opportunity to share your talent, stay performance-ready, and be part of a welcoming musical theatre community. 🎶

📅Theme: Role Reversal
A night of musical theatre songs reimagined beyond their traditional roles or ages, bringing fresh perspectives, bold choices, and unexpected moments to the stage.

Audition times extended due to demand!

The response to Grease auditions has been fantastic, and we’re excited to see so many performers getting involved.

To fit everyone in, we’ve extended our Sunday 3 May auditions to run from 9:00am through to 9:00pm.

Registrations are still open until 29 April, and we’d love to see more people (especially male performers) in the mix. If you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time.

Our very first Musical Theatre Open Mic Night was an absolute joy. We were treated to so many talented performers sharing their favourite musical theatre numbers, and the room was filled with such a supportive, enthusiastic audience cheering everyone on.

It was wonderful to see our local musical theatre community come together. Performers, friends, family and theatre lovers all celebrating the joy of live performance.

As a volunteer-run community theatre company, events like this also help raise funds to support the work we do, so a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the evening.

A special thank you as well to the volunteers working behind the scenes who helped bring the night together. These events simply wouldn’t happen without you.

We’re already looking forward to the next one. We’ll be refreshing the event name, but the concept will remain exactly the same, a supportive, curated night celebrating local musical theatre performers.

This is a welcoming, supportive performance evening for our musical theatre community. A chance to share iconic songs from the stage, stay performance-ready, and enjoy being on stage together.

To ensure a high-quality and enjoyable night for both performers and audience, the program will be curated.
